Safe Ministry for Children

Looking after our children at church is a top priority for us. Everyone involved in ministry with children must have completed the Anglican Safe Ministry training. If you are yet to do this then there are some people from our church doing it on March 8th. Check out the Youthworks website for more information on this course.

Safe Ministry training

It was great to have Janene Lewers from Youthworks visit us this week and complete the Safe Ministry training with more of our congregation. Looking after the children in our care is really important to us and we give praise to God for those who serve in this way!

"I don't turn my back on God's undeserved kindness. If we can be acceptable to God by obeying the Law, it was useless for Christ to die." Galatians 2:21 (CEV)

Safe Ministry for Children

Providing a safe environment for our children is a very high concern for our church. On Monday 5th and 26th of November, Janene Lewers from Anglican Youthworks will be visiting our church to conduct the Safe Ministry Training now required for people who engage in ministry to children.

The training session will go from 7.30 to 9pm in the upper meeting room and our church is covering the cost of the training. For more information about the training visit the Youthworks site.

To sign up for the course you will need to put your name on the list at the back of the church or sign up online here.

Safe Ministry with Children

In our church we seek to give our children the best care possible. This means:
  1. the training and screening of leaders so they have the best possible physical care. All leaders who work with children have to have completed the Safe Ministry Training which is recognised across all the Anglican Churches in Sydney.
  2. giving the children a secure physical environment in which to play and learn
  3. actively identifying risks to the children and dealing with them.
  4. having Christian people teach them what it means to follow Jesus
For more information about the standards we have check out the Sydney Anglicans website for Safe Ministry. If you have any questions about the safety of children in our church the first person to talk to is Helen Cooper, our Safe Ministry Representative.
