Christmas at Summer Hill Church

Christmas is a very special time for us and so we have some special events. On Christmas Eve (24th) we have Christmas for Kids at 6.30pm, Midnight Christmas at 11pm and Christmas Day (25th) we have our Christmas Celebration at 9.30am. Look forward to seeing you there.

Growth Groups sign-up starts 18th Jan

Our Growth Groups for term 1 will begin their sign-up on 18th Jan. Our groups are a great way to learn more about God from the Bible and meet other people who want to follow Jesus.

Archbishop Peter Jensen preaching on Sunday 28th Dec

Our Archbishop, Dr Peter Jensen, and Christine Jensen will be with us next week. Peter will be preaching on Luke 2:21-40 as we continue our series from Luke's gospel.

Farewell to Josh, Stuart and Patricia on the 28th Dec

It's been great to have Josh Taylor and Stuart and Patrica Braga with us the last two years. Josh has been a great asset to our church as one of our student ministers. We will be sending him to ministry at Artarmon Community Churchh and praying for him as he gets married to Chelsea in January.

Stuart and Patricia (my mum and dad) have been making the long journey down from Wahroonga each Sunday and ministering amongst us in lots of ways. We farewell them to join the congregation at St James, Turramurra. I'm sure we'll see them again down the track!

Church to support CMS and SIM to the tune of 7K

At Parish Council on Monday night we made a decision to actively support the work of Ans van der Zwaag in Hillbrow, South Africa (throught the Church Missionary Society - CMS) and the work of Bruce and Marsha Blackbell in Lima, Peru (through SIM - Serving In Mission)

Our target for this financial year (end of June) is $7,000 to be divided equally between the two missions. We're going to get more information to you about Ans and Bruce and Marsha and how to give using cash and electronically.

Thanks for the card from the Uni team that visited

Here is the card the guys from Sydney Uni that joined us last week. Josh, Bel and Guy came back yesterday and helped out with the Summer Hill Public School Christmas Service. Thanks so much.

We are having a really big community event in the park opposite the church - Alfred's Christmas Cracker. We're having a BBQ from 6pm and then carols and Alfred from 7pm. See you there!
