Open week for Summer Hill Anglican started with a bang with church yesterday morning, and a yummy picnic in the park in the sunshine afterwards! Our team of about 20 people from Moore College are here this week helping out the church with the open week events, and talking with people in the community about Jesus.

Our team went to the five local train stations this morning at 7am and handed out a heap of invitations to the Christ Files event on this Thursday evening. We had some great conversations with people about the topic of exploring the historical Jesus.

Since then we have had people visit the local Trinity Grammar School, and have had a conversation stall down at the Ashfield mall. Myself and another girl on team visited the Music Time group, which is held each week on Monday at 10:30am in the church hall for babies, toddlers and their mums. I think I had as much fun dancing and singing as the kids!

This afternoon some of our guys will visit the local Bethel Nursing Home, and we'll be continuing to hand out our invites in the community. Also, my husband Steve and some other team members are running an exciting stall this afternoon in Ashfield. People can fill in a short survey on what they think of the world and morality etc, and then they can have their world view (their way of understanding the world) labelled and can then choose to have a chat to our team members about what they believe and we can share with them about Jesus and what we believe. It's a great way to have a genuine conversation with someone about beliefs. I'll tell you how it went!

We have another jam packed day planned for tomorrow. We're praying particularly about the women's event on 'True Fulfillment' tomorrow night.

Each day this week (except Wednesday) the church building will be open, so if you're in the Summer Hill area, please pop in for a look around and a chat. Also, feel free to come to any of the events this week!

Cheers
