Communion on Good Friday?

I understand that Holy Communion over Easter is often shared on Easter Sunday and not Good Friday. Why not Good Friday?

I agree mate

We had an evening good friday service this year, breaking with tradition, but we shared communion there, and not on our easter sunday evening service. It seems to me that we share in his body and blood on the day we remember that, and we share the blessings of the risen Jesus on easter sunday which might include a different point of rememberance.

I would also like to know the origin of the tradition behind it

I know that the communion service expresses the idea of: 'proclaiming our fellowship in his death. We do this until he returns. Come Lord Jesus, come!' It looks back at Christ's death and looks forward to his return.

Still no answer for Easter Sunday.
